Celebrate National Public Lands Day with a weekend at Soldier Meadows Area of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC)!

EL DORADO HILLS, Calif. – The Bureau of Land Management is inviting the public to roll up their sleeves and come out on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., to help renovate the boardwalk and improve the trails and wetlands for National Public Lands Day at the Cosumnes River Preserve in Galt. Volunteers will meet at the Visitor Center located at 13501 Franklin Boulevard, Galt. Participants are encouraged to bring water, snacks, hats, sunscreen, gloves and sturdy work boots. Water and Gatorade will be provided.

National Public Lands Day offers volunteers a chance to celebrate America’s 250th birthday by joining meaningful BLM-led stewardship events across Oregon and Washington.

The Visitor Center is located at 40060 Smalley Road. Auberry. Participants are encouraged to bring water, snacks, hats, sunscreen, gloves and sturdy work boots. Water and Gatorade will be provided.

This NPLD Project will re-establish the carsonite boundary markers which identify the boundary of the Open Play Area.

Volunteers are encouraged to bring their mountain bikes to help monitor the trail, identify and repair trail braiding issues, and reclaim unauthorized routes nearby

Come out to the Water Canyon Recreation Area and volunteer for National Public Lands Day on 9/26/2026. Volunteer stewardship projects include trail feature construction, trail maintenance, and pollinator garden improvements.

Join the BLM for National Public Lands Day and to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary by volunteering at El Malpais National Conservation Area.

BLM Wyoming will hold a wild horse event Sept. 26 at the Deerwood Ranch. The event begins Saturday, Sept. 26, at 9 a.m., and will feature up to 20 animals for adoption.

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – The Bureau of Land Management Central Coast Field Office, the California Coastal National Monument, and the Santa Cruz Mountains Trail Stewardship are inviting the public to roll up their sleeves and come out on Sat., Sept. 26, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., to help with trail grooming and parking lot cleanup at Cotoni-Coast Dairies for National Public Lands Day. Participants will meet at Cotoni-Coast Dairies, 1 Cement Plant Road, Davenport. Participants are encouraged to bring water, snacks, hats, sunscreen, and sturdy work boots. Participants will be provided with coffee and pastries in the morning and sack lunches at the conclusion of workday activities.
