Utah State University, in partnership with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management and the Foundation for America’s Public Lands, will host a conference on Oct. 21 in Logan, Utah, marking the 50th anniversary of the Federal Land Policy and Management Act (FLPMA), pivotal legislation governing America’s public lands in the modern era. The event will bring together leading voices in public lands policy - including federal and state government leaders, agency heads and directors, researchers, non-governmental organizations, landowners, and private industry - to reflect on the past five decades of balancing human use with long-term sustainability, while also looking ahead to the next 50 years. Afternoon working groups will offer opportunities to engage in future policy and multiple-use discussions. The conference is open to the public.
