BLM Approves Treatments to Improve Sagebrush Habitat near Vernal

The Bureau of Land Management Vernal Field Office has issued Categorical Exclusion documentation for the Sunday School Sagebrush Restoration: DOI-BLM-UT-G010-2026-0146-CE. The Responsible Official signed a decision record approving lop and scatter vegetation treatments to remove pinyon and juniper trees encroaching into sagebrush habitat and minimize wildfire risk. The project area is 2,742 acres of BLM-administered lands in the Sunday School Canyon area, about 50 miles south of Vernal in Uintah County, Utah (T. 13 S., R. 22 E., Sections 14-17, 19-23, 26-29, 33-34; T. 14 S., R. 22 E., Section 3).
