Fort Benton, Mont. – The Missouri Breaks Interpretive Center is gearing up to inspire the next generation of explorers, and local fourth graders are first in line. Rangers with the Bureau of Land Management’s Missouri Breaks Interpretive Center invite fourth grade teachers to schedule a free Ranger-led presentation to receive Every Kid Outdoors pass for their students.

The Every Kid Outdoors program allows fourth graders across the country to discover their incredible public lands. With a free pass valid from September 1 to August 31, students and three accompanying adults can enjoy entry at all federal lands, including National Parks, Forests, and Monuments. These public lands are managed by federal organizations such as the Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service, U.S. Forest Service, and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

The Missouri Breaks Interpretive Center is an ideal place for kids to experience the benefits of getting outdoors, connecting them with Montana’s landscapes, wildlife, and rich history. Families can walk the riverside trails, explore hands-on exhibits about Lewis and Clark, learn about the steamboat era, and the region’s Native cultures, and discover wildlife through interactive displays. With the Every Kid Outdoors program, fourth graders can enjoy free access to these public lands, making it easy for families to learn, explore, and build lasting memories together.

All local fourth grade teachers can contact the monument to schedule a 45-minute in-class presentation that will cover topics such as local recreation opportunities, how and where the pass can be used, and information on the entities that manage these lands on behalf of the American public.  Bookings for this program are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting October 13, 2026.

For more information or to schedule a presentation email BLM_MT_UMRBNM@blm.gov or call 406-622-4000.
